Great Deals I Found this Week

Rather than post all my grocery trips from this week, I thought I would highlight some of the great deals that I found.

At Target, Delmonte canned veggies were on sale for 50 cents each. We eat mostly frozen veggies with the exception of green beans. We ate our last can this week so it was the perfect time to stock up.

Bought (8) cans of Delmonte Green Beans, 50 cents each
Used (2) $1/4 printable MQ (no longer available)
Final Price: 25 cents each :)

Eight cans will last us a few months since we usually only eat green beans every other week. Target also had the Stouffer's Toasted Subs on sale for $2.50 each. I had an opportunity to stack coupons to get them for cheap!

Bought (2) Stouffer's Frozen Toasted Subs, $2.50 each
Used (2) $1.50/1 Stouffer's Toasted Sub printable MQ from FaceBook (become a fan and click on the News tab)
Used (1) $1/2 Stouffer's Entrees from a Target Mailer
Final Price: 50 cents each!

Safeway is having a Buy 5, Get $5 off promotion until Tuesday. There are several different items included in the promotion....Nature Valley granola bars, Pop Tarts, Quaker Oatmeal, and various different cereals. You can read about the included products in the Safeway Ad. My husband likes healthier cereals and he was almost out. So I decided to get him cereal and surprise the kids with PopTarts (I haven't bought them in a long time and I knew they would be excited!).

Bought (3) PopTarts, $2.00 each
Bought (2) Crispix, $3.00 each
Used (1) $1.25/3 Poptarts MQ 3/28 RP
Used (1) $1.50/2 Crispix MQ 3/28 RP
Minus $5 for Buy 5 promotion
Final Price: $4.25 for all 5 or 85 cents each!

Plus Safeway had red grapes on sale for $1.99 per pound. I had a coupon for $1 off fresh produce WYB Kellogg's cereal. So I bought a few pounds and used the $1 off coupon. :)

Awesome Target Deal!

I went over to Target on my lunch break yesterday to pick up Valentine's Day treats for the hubs and kiddies. While I was there, I thought I would take advantage of a great deal on razors. Target has Venus Embrace razors on sale for $6.99 this week and when you buy 2, you get a $5 gift card. Great deal but when paired with coupons and rebates you get a money making deal. :) Here's the rundown...

Buy the following:
(2) Venus Embrace Razors for $6.99 each
(2) Olay Body Wash for $5.49 each

Use the following Q's:
(2) $2/1 Venus Embrace MQ from PG 2/7 insert
(2) Buy Venus Embrace Get a FREE Olay Body Wash MQ from PG 2/7 insert

Total: $9.98
PLUS you receive a $5 Target gift card

Then in a seperate transaction I purchased another Olay Body Wash for $5.49. I used a $1/1 Olay Body Wash Q and paid the $4.76 balance with my $5 gift card. No out of pocket. :)

Now I am going to take my receipts and mail away for the new Olay rebate. Buy (3) Olay Facial Mosturizers, Facial Treatments, Facial Cleansers, Hand & Body Lotions, Body Washes, or 6+ Bar Soap Packs and receive $15 via mail in rebate. Purchase must be made between 2/12/10 and 3/12/10. Funny thing about this all? I didn't even know about the rebate until AFTER I did the deal. Talk about lucky. :)

As you can see, I paid $0 out of pocket for the body wash and I will be receiving $15 by mail-in rebate. $15 MONEY MAKER! Wondering how I will get $15 bucks when I paid nothing out of pocket? Manufacturers generally calculate rebates by the price of the product BEFORE coupons. So using coupons, sales, and gift card deals just got me 3 FREE body washes AND $15. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Stacking Coupons at Target

My daughter has a birthday party to attend this weekend so I made a trip to Target on my lunch break to grab a gift. While I was there I planned on getting some cereal and juice. Unfortunately, they were all out of the juice that would have cost me 50 cents a bottle. :( They did have the cereal I was looking for though.

This is a great example of why I love Target! You can stack coupons. Don't know what stacking is? Here is a quick rundown....stacking is when you use a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon on the same item. So I grabbed the hubs some cereal for FREE. Want to know how I got FREE cereal?

Kashi Go Lean Crunch
Regular Price: $3.84 each
Sale Price: $2.75 each
Coupons: -.75/1 printable TQ and -$2/1 MQ from a sample I requested
Final Price: FREE, absolutely FREE

I knew I saved high value coupons for a reason. I had that Kashi coupon kicking around in my coupon binder for a few months. It was just asking to be used on a sale like this. :)

Target Trip 12.9.09

I went to Target on my lunch today. We were out of popcorn and running low on toliet paper. Apparently popcorn is required when you watch Christmas specials on TV. The kids were not happy campers last night when there was no popcorn served while they watched Charlie Brown's Christmas special. I also signed up to bring hot chocolate for my daughter's school Christmas party next week. Imagine my excitement when I realized I could get it at Target this week for absolutely FREE.

5 Keebler Cookies, $2.00 each
-$1/1 X 2 printable MQ (says use at Save-A-Lot on it but is a MQ so it can be used anywhere)
-$1.50/2 MQ printable
Received a $5 Target GC for buying 5!
Final Price: 30 cents each!

2 10-packs Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate, $0.97 each
-$1/1 printable TQ (adjusted down to 97 cents)
Final Price: FREE!

1 12 roll package of toilet paper, $6.29
-1.50/1 TQ mailer
Final Price: $4.79

2 3-pack PopSecret Popcorn
-$1/2 Target printable (no longer available)
-$1/2 printable MQ
Final Price: $1.29 each

1 Johnson's Baby Wash, $2.24
-$1/1 MQ from insert
-$1/1 Target printable

Target Trip 9.22.09

Chris and I were able to go out to dinner last night to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks to my in-laws, Maw and Paw for watching the kids! We ate at Dogfish Head Alehouse in Fairfax. Boy was it yummy! I definitely recommend this place if you like unique beers and pub fare. It is also very reasonably priced and we know how frugal I am! Check it out if you are in the vicinity. On our way home from dinner, we stopped at Target. We were almost out of diapers and toilet paper. Two very important items in our house. :) Here's how we did....

What I bought:

1 pack of Luvs Diapers - $7.49 each
1 box of Wheat Thins - $2.04 each
1 Healthy Choice Meal - $1.75 each
1 Healthy Choice Steamers - $2.50 each
2 Breyers Ice Cream - $2.69 each
1 12-pack Toliet Paper - $5.89 each
6 Travel size Kleenex (Clearance) - $0.18 each

Coupons Used:

-$1/1 Wheat Thins MQ (printable)
-$2/1 X 2 Healthy Choice Meals MQ (printable)
-$1/2 Breyers Ice Cream MQ
-.75/1 X 2 Breyers Ice Cream TQ
-$1.50/1 Target Brand Toliet Paper (from Target Home Mailer)
-$2.75 remaining balance from a Target GC received from MyPoints (I'll give everyone background on MyPoints in a future post)

Total Before Coupons and Gift Card: $25.53

Total after coupons and gift card: $15.28

It was a pretty decent run especially since I didn't have a coupon for the diapers. Also you will notice, I used both Target coupons and a Manufacturer coupon on Breyers Ice Cream. Target’s policy allows you to use one Target Coupon AND one Manufacturer coupon on the same item. What a great policy! This is called “stacking.” I try to stack coupons as often as possible and since we needed ice cream for our little boy’s birthday this weekend….it worked out perfectly. Stay tuned for my next post about MyPoints!
